![]() Mark out on the frame where the low point hits and cut out a small channel in the frame. It hangs low to hug the back end of the LCG and HCG mounting points. Also, you will want to cut a channel in the bottom of the chassis for the lowest most screw on the transmission casing. Then proceed to cut out the walls for the spur gears, access to the motor screws and pinion gear. Once you have finished the primary cutting, you should be left with something that looks like: Take time with this as you do not want to cut out too much plastic, because even though we will be reinforcing it later, it's better to try and save as much of it as you can. Try to retain some of it on the walls as high up as you can with the motor and spur gear taken into account. ![]() Use a Dremel, some patience, (safety glasses for the love of god), cutting wheel and sanding drum to cut out the sections of plastic. I have created kind of a crap diagram for where to cut here: Start by simply flipping the transmission 180 degrees from it's normal posistion and line up the two front (now rear) hard mount points on the gear box with the two rear most mounting holes and marking the parts of the frame where you will cut. Instead I went with the more solid RPM offering that had detachable A-Arm mounts, which gave it more options for suspension tuning. I also noticed that a lot of the other mid-motors like this tend to just use the stock gear box, however I dont like that gear box. I did not build this from a normal Slash, I actually built it from the ground up on a fresh LCG frame. So first thing is getting the chassis together.
